HTLS conductors are very similar in construction to a conventional ACSR conductors and are the most feasible method of increasing transmission line thermal rating. These have approximately the same diameter as the original ACSR and can be easily installed and operated without the need for extensive modification of the existing structures. These are the new age conductors which deliver large quantum of power without any change in the existing tower or foundation designs with minor modifications therein.
